How does it work?

Every Solana address comes from a random key, so you can't choose one. What you can do is generate millions of keys until one happens to start with your word. We do that on GPUs.

Addresses are random. Ours aren't.

A Solana address is the public half of a keypair, written in base58. When a wallet creates an account, it picks a random private key and the address follows from the math. There's no way to choose the address first and work backwards to a key.

So we brute-force it instead. We generate a keypair, check whether the address starts with your word, throw it away if it doesn't, and repeat. We call this grinding. One of our RTX 5090s checks about 330 million keys every second, and rush orders use up to four at once.

What happens when you order

  1. Pick a word. The Wallet tab gets you a wallet address that starts with your word. The pump.fun launch tab gets you a token (mint) address that starts with it. You see the live price and typical time as you type.
  2. Your browser makes a key. Before you pay, your browser creates an encryption key that never leaves this device. Our GPUs encrypt your result to it.
  3. Pay in SOL. Connect your wallet and approve a single transfer for the quoted price. Your browser checks the transaction first: the right amount, to our address, for your order, and nothing else.
  4. We grind. Once the payment is final on Solana, our GPUs start searching. Short words take seconds and long ones can take a while. You can close the tab and come back on the same browser, or use your recovery file on another device.
  5. Your browser opens the result. The keypair arrives encrypted. Only your browser can decrypt it. It then re-derives the address from the private key and checks it starts with your word before showing it to you.

Why longer words cost more

Base58 has 58 characters, so each extra letter makes a match about 58 times rarer. A 5-letter word takes around 650 million tries on average. A 6-letter word takes 38 billion, and a 7-letter word takes 2.2 trillion.

Not caring about capitalisation helps a lot. Most letters can then match in upper or lower case, so each extra letter only makes the search about 29 times harder.

The first letter matters too. Some letters are rarer at the very start of an address than others, so two words of the same length can have different prices. We work out the price for your exact word.

Rush spreads the search over up to four GPUs, so long searches finish several times faster for a higher price.

Why no numbers, and no O, I or l?

Your word can't contain numbers. Base58 also leaves out characters that are easy to confuse: 0 (zero), O (capital o), I (capital i) and l (lowercase L). If you care about capitalisation, your word can't contain O, I or l. If you don't, we'll match whichever case exists.

Estimates are estimates

Grinding is luck, so we show a range: about half of searches finish by the first number and 95% by the second, plus a little time for the GPUs to start. We lock in your price when you order, so a slow, unlucky search doesn't cost you more. Every order has a time limit; if the search hits it without a match, we refund your payment automatically.
